It was an Amazing Journey
As I say goodbye for now, to my beloved companion, tears stream down my face. When I met you, I had no idea the impact you would have on my life. Our time together was filled with so much love and joy - every ride, every brush of your coat, every early morning walk will forever be etched in my heart. Thank you for showing me true friendship, patience, and compassion. My dearest Malik, thank you for choosing me to share your life with. The memories we have made will stay with me always, until we are reunited once more in those green pastures. know that you will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything, my sweet boy. Goodbye, my dear friend. I love you always and forever.
Malik is Saddle and Sage and will continue to be! Creating a space for rider education and resources all came from my experiences with Malik. I didn't share openly the health struggles that Malik and I faced but now more than ever it is important to share knowledge. Being owned by a horse is one of the biggest responsibilities I have ever experienced. Yes, I did say “being owned by a horse”, because it is of the utmost importance to know and learn species specific horse care. Most of what I do with my horses is labeled non-traditional, however I do work with Holistic Vets in making my decisions for a more nature focused lifestyle for my horses.
The last few months without Malik have been... there are no words for the grief I have felt. I am just glad that Malik got to spend some time with his new little brother. and showed him the ropes. He welcomed him in with open arms which we know for horses doesn't always go well, but Malik had a big heart and we are just so blessed they got that time together.
Hug your horses tight and enjoy every ride together because you never know when it will be your last.
Rest in Peace Malik.
